Post Keys get stuck down
Short of taking a hammer to this blasted keyboard, does anyone have any good advice for avoiding the horrendous 'stick' that they keys exhibit?

Today the 'Enter' key got stuck down, and yesterday it was the 'C' - no doubt tomorrow something else will stick.

The Optimus may be fun, but for regular typing it's a truly unenjoyable experience.

I have not yet experienced a sticky key but being a long time user of the keyboard, I can truly imagine it is possible. I have not read about any fixes for you but I definitely wouldn't recommend the OM for a heavy use keyboard, as the excessive weight of the keys could cause strain in the fingers, and then there is that incessant CLICK!

If you are a heavy user, then get a second keyboard for long letters, or type with a lighter touch of the keys. If a particular key begins to stick often then I suggest removing it and give it a bit of a clean!

Post Re: Keys get stuck down
I just got my second keyboard, the first one had some keys that did not light,so i sent it back, now i opened this one brand new out of the box, and the enter key is getting stuck - right out of the freaking box, i removed the key and looked for any dirt or anything that might be sticking it, but it is clean as can be. This is a heck of a lot of money to pay for an item to be so flimsy and poorly constructed, Im calling my vendor today and now i may have to return it a second time and hope that the 3rd times a charm. Any ideas before i return it?

Only what you have done. Remove the key, and check for improper fit and replace. All the workings are inside the key so you would have to dismantle the key to get to the parts. The mecanism inside the enter key is the same as the spares so if they could be pried apart it could be a resolve but if you intend to return the keyboard, then maybe not!

On my 2 OM keyboards, I found that some of the keys were rubbing against
an adjacent key due to an uneven edge along the bottom of the
clear plastic housing of the key. There is the remnant of the plastic
injection molding along one of the edges.

Pop the key out and run your finger around the bottom edge of the clear
plastic housing. If you find a rough spot use a flat small/micro file
(or even a nail file) to smooth down the plastic that is sticking out
and rubbing against the next key.

One of my keyboards had half a dozen keys with this problem. The
keys were either sticking or "sluggish".

Make sure you put the key back in properly!
