I already tried to explain to the admin that this way of supplying layouts is not working for people which have a PC and, unfortunately, IE...

Tiff files cannot be seen and/or downloaded...

A ZIP file containing the layout which can be downloaded using the thumbnail would be much more useful to everybody... but...

:?

Hi,

You are correct, Internet Explorer on the PC cannot render tiffs. If you look closely though (and I checked this using IE6 on WinXP, there is a link to a zip file under the tiff files...

BUT, and its a big but.,..

There is NO point downloading them anyway, There seems to be a there seems to be a lack of an import button on the PC version of Configurator.

On the MAC version there is an import button, browse to tiff file and instant layout.....

Seems NOT to be there on the PC, unless I missed it!

After a DEEP investigation on what seems to be a problem for SOME and a simple thing for OTHERS, I found the following (google: TIFF Internet Explorer):

Open TIF Images with Internet Explorer (All Windows)

- When you click a link to download a Tagged Information File Format (TIFF) image from a Web site, the Open button in the File Download dialog box may be disabled. This tweak allows you to open the file using Internet Explorer.

- Open your registry and find the key [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tif]. Change the value of "(Default)" to the data below for your Windows version.
"Imaging.Document" for Windows 2000, 98, Me and XP
"WangImage.Document" for Windows 95 and NT.
- Repeat the change under the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.tiff] sub-key.
- Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Hope this helps... I did not complete the above procedure to confirm yet, but I'm confident it will work... My key was empty !!! ;)

BTW: The ZIP file seems corrupted too... 8-)

That doesn't help view them in advance...

All that does it enable the open / save buttons so you can download and save the file

When using IE7 OR a decent browser like Safari, the Tiff is displayed in place on the web page so you can see what it looks like before you download it.

Also, the ZIP fil is fine, ive downloaded it, unziped it and the TIFF's are all inside fine.

My question still stands, does it really help as there seems to be no Import Tiff button on the PC version.

so how do you get layouts to display on the PC version? Is this function available yet?

Actually the problems I were reporting on my previous posts are still there from my side.
At this point I don't know where the problem is.

I think I'll have to consider forgetting entering the MAC area as it seems it will be of no value for me, but I think it's a shame.

TIFF files cannot be opened from my crappy IE7, ZIP file seems corrupted too (and I work with zip and rar everyday without any other problem...).

I think the problem is somewhere in between but I cannot get to it...

ArternaTIFF gave no help, registry fixing neither...

Almost lost in this mess...

Any help would be appreciated.
